A Family Affair

When was the last time you read an article like this in your local newspaper?

A joyful gathering of a large and happy family at the old homestead.

One of those days that seldom come in the life of a large family, but which is so full of the joy and happiness, was successfully celebrated at the home of Mr. & Mrs. William Shade of Wayne Township, Mifflin county, on last Saturday, August 10, 1901. It was the day set apart for the reunion of their family.

With the children come the grandchildren, and with the grandchildren come the great-grandchildren, and with such kindly favor surely the giver of the ever good and perfect gift looked down upon this family. So strong and mighty has it become that the old house could no longer shelter the family as in the years gone by, so that it was necessary to hold the gathering in the beautiful grove which forms a part of the homestead. Had an all wise Providence allowed man to dictate the conditions that should prevail upon that day, they could not have been better suited to the occasion.

Very early in the morning the dear ones began to arrive, coming from all points of the compass, and as the venerable couple greeted the last arrival their feelings were well expressed in the words of the Psalmist; "Surely goodness and mercy have followed us all the days of our lives, and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

At 11 o' clock the exercises of the day were opened with singing by the young people, after which the assemblage was led in prayer by the Rev. Vondersmith, followed by addresses by Rev. H. W. Koehler, Rev. Vondersmith, and Jacob Stine, each dwelling on the happiness of the occasion and rejoicing with Mr. and Mrs. Shade.

The article goes on to list 30 recitations, skits (called dialogues), and songs, and instrumental pieces performed by family members. In closing,

Ten of the eleven children, sixty two grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren, together with their wives and husbands, made a gathering that numbered over one hundred, and excellent testimonial to the love and esteem in which Mr. and Mrs. Shade are held by those whom they love and have nurtured and raised.

The couple mentioned in this article are my wife's maternal grandmother's paternal grandparents.

For good or bad, the press controls the tempo and topic of the national conversation. There is no such thing as a neutral or impartial press. It is  always promoting or denigrating something. The question is, What? Skillful press is able to do so without the typical reader even realizing what is being promoted or denigrated.

Some Help For FOX News

Dear Fox News,

I saw recently that you were asking where Ron Paul was. Wanting to lend a humanitarian hand to help you find this missing person, I took some time to look for him. Having found him very quickly, I thought I should pass along my missing person techniques so that, if you so desire, you could train your reporters how to locate successful presidential candidates as they speak to very large and very loud crowds.

1. First, I googled "Ron Paul Texas" since I live in Texas and don't have a large expense account.
    
2. I then inspected all the links that Google found relating to Ron Paul speaking and selected the closest one- about an hour away.
    
3. I then wrote down the address, located it on an online map, got in my car, and drove to the address.
    
4.  Here is where amazing things started happening. Signs started appearing on the road pointing the way to Ron Paul. When I arrived and parked the car, there were streams of people pouring into a building nearby. Although I wasn't familiar with these buildings, AMAZINGLY, nearly everyone was carrying signs with Ron Paul's name and picture on them. I guess they wanted to make sure they would remember who they were going to see and would recognize him when he showed up. From this point on it would have been hard not to find RP.  I just followed the crowd to a seat and there was Ron Paul.

Now, I never had any training in investigative journalism, but I am sure that if these techniques are studied and mastered by your investigative journalists, they won't have any more trouble in the future finding Ron Paul or other liberty minded people. I hope this helps.

You Trust FOX News?

Here's further proof FOX news is completely unreliable. But don't miss the last line in this clip...Jane Akre's (one of the fired reporters) whistleblower suit was overturned on appeal because there was no law that requires news programs to state the truth! We all knew that, but now the courts have agreed, putting it in writing.

Now in the interests of full disclosure, I run a BGH free goat dairy - well, I fund it, Robert runs it. But it accepts no federal or state subsidies, employs no RFID chips, does not profit from illegal alien labor (James 5:4), gives all animals free range pasture, gets no property tax concessions or small business loans, is not too big too fail nor was it responsible for any increases in Federal Reserve "assets", has no corporate veil of immunity, yet makes the best kefir in Texas.

Did You See This Bit of News In US Media?

After two smugglers were stopped last week with what at first appeared to be $134bn in US state bonds, the tension and paranoia surrounding the fate of the dollar hit a new high.

For every dollar created by the Federal Reserve to fund the stimulus packages, there is a dollar in US Treasury securities floating around. We may not know where the stimulus money went, but maybe we now know where some of the securities went.

Border guards in Chiasso see plenty of smugglers and plenty of false-bottomed suitcases, but no one in the town, which straddles the Italian-Swiss frontier, had ever seen anything like this. Trussed up in front of the police in the train station were two Japanese men, and beside them a suitcase with a booty unlike any other. Concealed at the bottom of the bag were some rather incredible sheets of paper. The documents were apparently dollar-denominated US government bonds with a face value of a staggering $134bn (£81bn).
How on earth did these two men, who at first refused to identify themselves,come to be there, trying to ride the train into Switzerland carrying bonds worth more than the gross domestic product of Singapore? If the bonds were genuine,the pair would have been America's fourth-biggest creditor, ahead of the UK and just behind Russia.
No sooner had the story leaked out from the Italian lakes region last week than it sparked a panoply of conspiracy tales. But one resounded more than any other: that the men were agents of the Japanese finance ministry, in the country for the G8 meeting, making a surreptitious journey into Switzerland to sell off one small chunk of the massive mountain of US bonds stacked up in the Japanese Treasury vaults.

Of course $134bn is only about 1/20 of the debt the Federal Reserve now holds. Maybe they were Federal Reserve agents ....
